No room in the inn

The nursery was full to overflowing this week!  If Jesus had been born today rather than 2000 years ago, we might have to tell his parents that there was no room in the Kudjip baby inn.  But somehow, someway we would make room as we always do...  Sister Sylvia moved in an extra isolette to help take care of the overflow.  The mechanical part of the bed doesn't work, but we needed another place for a baby to sleep.  Or maybe two!  B/o Hellen and b/o Freda are now isolette-mates.

Thanks to Operation Warm Baby, our little ones are clothed in adorable onsies and receiving blankets rather than strips of cloth.

It was standing room only for b/o Hellen's 2000 gram party!

"While [Mary and Joseph were in Bethlehem], the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.  She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."
~ Luke 2:7

Maybe next year

Little Romania and her mother Sephora traveled down to Port Moresby last week to see the Operation Open Heart team.  Romania has quite a complicated congenital heart anomaly:  VSD with interrupted aortic arch.  And she will need a complicated procedure to repair it.  The doctors felt that this year she was too little for such a big surgery.

Romania is fairly stable (and VERY happy) on medicines--for now.  We will continue to treat her, hoping that she grows big and strong enough to have surgery next year.

Konde is our other kiddo who went to Moresby.  He had his surgery early last week and was discharged after a couple of days.  He was readmitted to the hospital on Tuesday because of shortness of breath.  The doctors are waiting for him to recover completely before sending him on home.

I have been closely following the OOH blog.  I was really excited to see a picture of Konde Walep and his dad Walep Konde!  Here it is...

Thank you again for praying for our heart kids over the last few months :)

"May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word."
